What a cool race morning this Saturday for Dr. Peter (AA2VG), Rich (W2TMA), and Steve (N2PQJ) at the 2026 Great Cow Harbor 10K Run in Northport, NY! Larkfield ARC provided backup communication support for the race timers this year, giving our team front-row seats at the Start, Mile 1, and Finish line. Great job representing the club and supporting our local community!

Our latest club meeting brought out an impressive crowd of 27 members alongside several guests for a full evening of club business and special presentations.
Following a unanimous vote welcoming our newest member into the club, we handed the floor over to our special guest speakers from the American Radio Relay League (ARRL): Hudson Division Director Ed Wilson (N2XDD) and NLI Section Manager Jim Mezey (W2KFV).
Ed and Jim delivered an engaging presentation covering major updates from the ARRL regarding upcoming national programs and events. They also spearheaded a productive discussion focused on actionable ways our club can enhance local operator training and strengthen member recruitment efforts.
Thank you to Ed, Jim, and all of our members and visitors who made it an exceptional meeting. We look forward to seeing everyone at the next gathering!

Our August 2026 meeting was well attended by 25 members. We voted on several bylaws changes and had a presentation on the “Skin Effect” and VSWR. One lucky member walked away with the 50/50 cash prize. See you all next month.

The Larkfield Amateur Radio Club was proud to participate in the Town of Huntington’s annual Earth Day Celebration at Elwood Park. Although the weather brought cool temperatures and a light drizzle, our members turned out in high spirits with a full booth setup under the club canopy.
Throughout the day, we showcased the many facets of amateur radio to local residents and families. Visitors stopped by our display to check out our portable gear, learn about emergency communications, and ask questions about getting licensed. We also ran live demonstrations on the air, operating both local VHF/UHF gear and HF equipment to make contacts and demonstrate how hams connect locally and around the globe—rain or shine!
Another fine turnout for our March 2025 meeting. Howard-WB2UZE, gave a presentation on ‘LICW and the Renaissance of Morse Code’. Bob-AC2AZ donated more books for a giveaway and he won the 50/50 raffle! Lucky Fred-K2LDC won the donated HT Baofeng radio.
