We would like to extend a huge congratulations to our very own Matt Harris (W2NDR), who is volunteering his time and amateur radio expertise at the TCS New York City Marathon today—marking his 37th consecutive year supporting the event!
Major public events like the NYC Marathon rely heavily on volunteer amateur radio operators to ensure smooth operations across all 26.2 miles. From early morning setup in the central communications tent to monitoring course safety, net control operations, and emergency communications, hams play a vital role in keeping tens of thousands of runners and spectators safe.
Thank you, Matt, for your extraordinary public service, dedication, and for representing the Larkfield Amateur Radio Club with distinction year after year.
73!
